On Tuesday, February 25th, the "7th Carbon Recycle Salon 2024" was held by the Carbon Recycling Fund Institute(The following is CRF), CHITOSE Group CEO Fujita gave a speech. CRF is an organization made up of approximately 240 members, including private companies and local governments, that promotes carbon recycling and engages in research grant activities and public relations activities. Following on from last year, I was given the opportunity to give a lecture both in person and online.

In his presentation, entitled "The essence of biotechnology that business people should know today," Fujita explained the trends in biotechnology and its business, and raised the issue of evaluating people and businesses based on a single KPI that overlooks the essence and goals. In response, while introducing the CHITOSE Group's business, we emphasized our sincere efforts to bio-ize all industries.

During the Q&A session after the lecture, questions were asked not only about the algae business but also about the wide range of businesses in which the CHITOSE Group is involved, including agriculture and healthcare, indicating a high level of interest in the bioeconomy that utilizes the power of small organisms such as microalgae, microorganisms, and bacteria.

At the subsequent social gathering, samples of financiers containing the microalgae Spirulina were distributed, providing an opportunity for attendees to become more familiar with the algae industry. We hope that this will spark your interest in the "MATSURI" project, which aims to build an algae-based industry as a carbon recycling initiative. CHITOSE Group will continue to expand its activities towards achieving carbon neutrality with bio as the core.
