MATSURI began in 2021 with the goal of building a microalgae industry.

From 2025 onward, it has evolved beyond microalgae, transforming into a cross-industry initiative that drives the bioeconomy, striving to build a bio-based society.

While continuing to develop the microalgae industry, our challenges now extend further—to fermentation production, resource circulation, and sustainable agriculture, as well as the development of industrial strains and AI-driven technologies that support them.

Just as people from all walks of life gather at a festival, celebrating together regardless of occupation, status, or age, this initiative brings together diverse players across industries to collaborate, create new businesses, generate revenue, and drive the industry forward.
