On July 17th (Wednesday), CHITOSE Group CEO Tomohiro Fujita gave a speech entitled "Trends in Bioeconomy and CHITOSE Group's Strategy" at Iwatani Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Iwatani).
Iwatani Corporation has been participating in MATSURI, a project to build an algae-based industry since 2024.
Iwatani Corporation is engaged in a comprehensive energy business centered on LPG and portable stoves, an industrial gas business including hydrogen, and materials businesses derived from these.
As Iwatani Corporation is also focusing on efforts toward a decarbonized and sustainable society, the company requested that the CHITOSE Group's efforts in promoting the bioeconomy be widely introduced within the company, and this lecture was made possible in response to this request.
This lecture was attended by people from a wide range of departments.

In his lecture, Fujita spoke about the bioeconomy, which is expected to reach a market size of 4000 trillion yen by 2030, and also discussed points to keep in mind when starting a new business, citing examples of business development in various fields based on his experience in launching many new businesses at the CHITOSE Group.
During the question and answer session, a variety of questions were asked, including about algae production, the creation of products using algae and their business development, CHITOSE's approach to life cycle assessment, and how to solve problems related to starting a new business.
Lively discussions continued right up until the end of the lecture, providing a meaningful opportunity for the exchange of opinions.

We hope that sharing the knowledge of CHITOSE Group in this presentation will accelerate the business promotion of Iwatani Corporation and advance the collaboration between Iwatani Corporation and CHITOSE Group.
