We held an information sharing session exclusively for MATSURI partner companies, with the theme of “The latest information on biofuels in the United States”
On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, we held an online information sharing session for MATSURI partner companies to provide useful information on the latest trends in "Bio x Environment x Business."
Approximately 120 people from our partner companies participated in this event.
In the first half, CHITOSE Group Researcher Risa Sakamoto, also known as Sally from "MATSURI Integrity," gave a talk on the "Latest Information on Biofuels in the United States," explaining the latest policies and the current situation in which much of the food raw material is being used for fuel, and shared her thoughts from the perspective of the algae industry.
Following Sakamoto's information sharing, the second half of the event saw a discussion and question-and-answer session with energy analyst Noriaki Ooba and Junpei Nomura, General Manager and Secretary General of the Japan Microalgae Technology Association, on what we should do to build the algae industry and future prospects.
During the question and answer session, many questions were asked, such as "What would the LCA look like if aviation fuel was made from algae?" and "What does the United States think about using food as fuel?", indicating the high level of interest in the energy situation among the partner companies.
Based on the results of the survey conducted after the event, we have already begun considering holding a second online study session.
At MATSURI, we welcome participation from a wide range of companies, regardless of industry or size.
